Using TinyMCE is similar to using your word processor or email program. I doubt if I will use it often in straight messages. It might be more useful in posting lyrics, set lists, or programs in a table format. You might think it easier to write that sort of thing in Word and paste it here, but that does not work. You lose the rich text features.
Those of you who like small faces in your messages might try the emoticons. I warn you: they do not always work.
I think that using TinyMCE, you can now paste a rich text format into the text area, and the formatting will transfer. Not sure about Word, as I never use it, but cutting from a web page, and pasting into here will maintain the formatting. For example, if I cut your post above and paste it, it will maintain the links and the red words:

Ah! I see when the emoticons don't work. By default, the "Input Format" is "Filtered HTML". You need to select Rich Text.
